My research centers on computational mechanics, with a focus on Fluid–Structure Interaction (FSI) phenomena in engineering and sciences. I lead a research team at Iowa State University that tackles interdisciplinary problems relevant to defense, medicine, and other critical areas. We develop robust, validated, and streamlined frameworks that incorporate complex parameterization, geometric modeling, multiphysics analysis, and optimization. Our methods leverage computational FSI and high-fidelity analysis to facilitate design space exploration, advance digital twin technologies, and enhance the understanding of fluid and solid mechanics. Our research is supported by the DOD, NIH, DOE, NSF, industry partners, and private foundations.
