President: Joe Kopacz

Greetings! I am Joe Kopacz, a senior mechanical engineering major and the ISU ANS Section President. I came to Iowa State University as a transfer from Scott Community College in Bettendorf, IA in January 2012. ISU ANS was one of the first clubs I got involved with on campus. Within the club, I have traveled to the student conferences in Las Vegas (2012) and Boston (2013) and I'm looking forward to the student conference at Penn State in State College, PA this coming spring! Additionally, my time in the club has convinced me to pursue the minor in Nuclear Engineering, and I hope to work somewhere in the nuclear power industry upon graduation. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling (I visited friends in Chicago and St. Louis this summer), reading, and swimming.

Chair of Programming: T.J. Beavers

Hi, I am TJ and I am am the current Chair of Programming for the ISU chapter of ANS. I've lived all over the U.S. and after "topping out" in what I was doing in San Diego, CA I decided to buckle down and finish my Bachelor's degree. I moved to Iowa as that is where my dad is from and chose to finish my Mechanical Engineering degree at Iowa State University. With a strong interest in the nuclear field to begin with and the newly created Nuclear Engineering minor at Iowa State my choice in schools was easy. I graduate in December of 2013 and while I'll likely work in the Des Moines area in a non-nuclear related industry I hope to eventually  (after paying down student loan debt) migrate into the nuclear industry.
