The Student Section of the American Nuclear Society is a campus organization but its influence spreads beyond the University. In the past ISU ANS has focused on its student group, providing quality interactions with the nuclear industry and its membership. Recently the organization has begun to shift its focus to what it can do for the community.

Community Outreach:

The section has reached out in several different ways including helping judge for the State Science Fair of Iowa and being present at the Engineering Student Council Event, Engineering Day at the Mall.

In ISU ANS' largest event so far, Margaret Harding, owner of Four Factor Consulting and a 30 year veteran of the nuclear industry, gave the presentation Fukushima: Facts, Timeline, and Implications for Nuclear Power.
