Plant Science Applications
The Plant Science Applications thrust develops computational modeling tools to advance climate-resilient crop engineering. This work is supported by the Plant Science Institute Scholar award at Iowa State University. Key directions include:
- 3D geometric modeling of plants from point cloud data
- Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) for plant phenotyping and 3D reconstruction
- Implicit neural representations for multiscale plant geometry
- Field-level phenotyping pipelines to support crop breeding programs
- Multiscale methods for modeling resource utilization in plants
